663799 2008-04-30 21:24:00 I do have a TV card with which I can watch the UHF channels . Not exactly a great investment, but it is only a one off payment so that's not too bad . I watch the occasional Discovery programme but it has pointed out to me that there is very little that interests me on Sky .

So what little there is that interests you on Sky you are willing to break the law for

663800 2008-04-30 22:30:00 Sky are putting their prices up because they know so many people are hooked to watching mindless drivel and will front up with the money..

I like Sky.
It could be cheaper but it beats the drivel on normal TV.

Whats so terrible about Nat Geo/Discovery/Doc channels?

Some stuff isn't to my taste but there are plenty of interesting docos on.

Better than soaps or US sitcom crap.

How sanctimonious is that?

I agree, some really interesting programs on those channels.
As well I get perfect reception on the free channels which is an added bonus.

Got to agree with you pctek. Mind you I was a bit like the others until I got Sky in the beginning of Feb.

663804 2008-05-01 00:37:00 I have the use of sky, but I don't pay for it.

I never would either.

Sky is a rip off. They really need some competition.

What's that supposed to mean? I don't illegally decode Sky on my PC.
I pay $18 a month for the free-to-air channels on Sky digital.

663806 2008-05-01 06:39:00 I don't know if this has been mentioned but i know 3 people in my area this month that have a sky dish but are not subscribed to sky that they have come around and removed the dish - also i have heard of numerous people where sky have turned up and removed the dish from peeps up in nelson - maybe with the advent of freeview sky are getting there gear back so they can't be used in competition with them. :waughh: presso (10113)

Perhaps not, but I'm certain you are not squeaky clean. If you are trying to say that you have never done anything illegal, are not doing something illegal at present or are not planning to do something illegal in the future then you must be telling whoppers. Nobody is that good. That was my reason for using the word, "sanctimonious."
