801312 2009-08-15 10:31:00 I can see it because when I boot using the XP Pro I installed to C: I can see the recovery partition D: and all the files on it.

At the end of the day if I could get the PRO to work I would prefer it, but I had assumed that when I installed it, it would detect my wireless adapter and graphics card during the install.

tks

801313 2009-08-15 10:36:00 XP wont install drivers for anything (unless it was pre-installed, or you've got restore cd's / a dvd). Thats why you create restore cd's. It wont install LAN, sound, wireless or videocard drivers (unless you slipstream them). XP will install basic video drivers so things work. It'd probably be easier turning it off, pulling the hdd out and putting it in a working system. If the hdd is SATA connect it to a sata connection, if its IDE connect it to an IDE connector, make sure its jumpered properly first Speedy Gonzales (78)
801314 2009-08-15 10:47:00 thanks, sounds like I need to find a tech :( Erger (10062)
801315 2009-08-15 10:49:00 Where are you in NZ? (If youre in NZ). Are you in Auckland or somewhere else? So, if you've got the XP Pro cd, then do a clean install / partition both partitions, what happens? Get the drivers for it later. Since obviously youre on a working PC (youre here). Tks Speedy (yes Auckland) given what you have said about an XP install I guess I can connect to the web using a network cable and try and get the drivers from the HP site for the wireless and graphics etc

801319 2009-08-15 12:06:00 Not too far away. You'll have to bring it here tho. Shouldnt be too hard too fix it, if you want me to check it out. Just bring that and the XP Pro cd, and some blanks (if the restore partition is still intact and there's ISO's on it, we'll burn them). Speedy Gonzales (78)
