| 802577 | 2009-08-19 11:45:00 | Bootcamped Windows 7 on a MacBook Pro. Easy as. Adding the machine to a Domain... simple Wireless at home... worked as advertised. I've only spent a couple of days playing... etc, but so far no complaints. I'm planning to spend a week or two just living in a Windows 7 world. Anyone got any gripes or likes in regards to Windows 7's current state? Skipping Vista seems to be the logical course of action. At home, I've held off replacing an aging HP laptop... by aging, probably one or two service packs too many for a 5 year old machine, without much RAM. So the new home machine will either be Windows 7 PC, or an ex-lease MacBook Pro (depending what the lease company wants for it). I can't say that Vista bothers me, but then I'm not an everyday user of the O/S. |

| 802578 | 2009-08-19 11:47:00 | IMO Windows 7 is much, much better in every way than Windows Vista (and better in many ways than Windows XP). | jwil1 (65) | ||

| 802582 | 2009-08-19 12:02:00 | I did, a few days was good enough. I see no point in installing a beta or rc version. And updating it, since you'll have to kill it later | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||

I guess that I was expecting the odd challenge... probably more in regards to Boot Camping an O/S not officially supported. So not surprised, just pointing out that nothing I tried to do failed... so far. |
