802006 2009-08-17 23:15:00 This is not your normal which is better than what thread :)

Can I get some links to good reliable and up-to-date hardware reviews, I am out of touch with hardware somewhat and Google brings up a lot of dross.

Essentially I want to be able to read 5 or 6 reviews from reputable sites without getting bogged down in opinion and inaccuracy.

802008 2009-08-17 23:32:00 All reviews are opinion.

If I want to know about some appliance I look at a few reviews, then I go look at the USER reviews, especially ones that state problems or reliability issues later on......

802011 2009-08-18 02:31:00 Extreme Tech (www.extremetech.com/) might be suitable and Tom's Hardware (http:).

But if you want daily hardware news long term, then set up Google alerts (with Gmail). Enter your keyword in the alert (e.g. hard drive reviews), and you will receive the latest in news from vendors, news sites, web/blogs, etc. Then can filter, what's relevant from particular sites (you might get flooded with info, if you don't target your search terms/keyword specifically) Then review those sites, and perhaps subscribe (email/rss) to receive specifics to streamline what you really want on a daily basis...

802012 2009-08-18 04:16:00 anandtech and hardocp have quite detailed reviews as well. utopian201 (6245)
802013 2009-08-18 05:07:00 Once you filter out sites that you want hardware reviews, you can copy the rss url's in to a widget/gadget and paste it on your own site/blog or a iGoogle page (I think) to receive daily news (of whatever you want).

Works for me (and site visitors) on one of my web sites - instant reviews of the latest software/hardware/industry hardware news from selected sites. this saves cluttering up your email inbox. See example of daily news feeds in widgets at pcsourcepoint (http://pcsourcepoint.netfirms.com/).
