They have a simple UI and a clean design, finger marks are not a problem (unless you eat fatty food with your fingers in which case you might like to explore a better diet) unless you tilt it (the iphone or ipod). As for fat fingers... well, i feel sorry for you if this hinders your typing ability but I doubt it, the touch screen is quite accurate. The iPhone is a cool device and I find it fun to use. If you don't like it, woop de freakin do, move on? All you need is digital surgery and a dietary modification, lotts of suplus $$$ and you can have a phone that is excellent for enhancing your image in certain circles. Wow, who could resist that? |

Considering that all models of the iPhone being carried by O2 and Carphone Warehouse in the UK are currently sold out prior to the arrival of the 3G iPhone. |

| 666530 | 2008-05-09 04:59:00 | Why what? Because it is better than Telecom doing it. Vodafone Australia will be releasing it there first I think although from what I have read the iPhone will also be available through Optus so Telecom might get in on the act here.. Apparently telecom will also be selling it here, as VF apparently don't have an exclusive agreement. Apparently they have to pay a percentage of the profits they make from the calls to apple, so apple wins both ways. |

Geez, why would you possibly want to to know that kind of thing. Does it help you pick up girls at parties? |

Apparently they have to pay a percentage of the profits they make from the calls to apple, so apple wins both ways. That is the standard part of Apple's agreement with the carriers ( it is the first time such an agreement has been set up like that). I think Apple gets around 10% of the monthly user revenue from the iPhone on top of the sale price although where the iPhone is unlocked Apple only gets the iPhone sale - still with the amount of iPhones Apple has geared up to sell through the various Telcos in the UK and Europe by the end of 2009 that is going to be a LOT of revenue to book - it will actually be done as deferred revenue so the full impact won't be seen till the final quarter of 2009 I think. Something to do with the accounting model that Apple is using for the subscription type service on the iPhone where purchase cost + subscription = deferred revenue (or something to that effect) More info here weblogs.baltimoresun.com |
