And that purpose is the supply of drugs, illicit goods and protection rackets to the large number of people who use them. You would be absolutely suprised by the large number of "good", "decent" friends, relatives and collegues who keep these criminals in business. When I was younger I worked in a gas station in Mangere down the road from the Mongrel Mob Notorious chapter. I once refused to give the chapter leader free petrol and he sent in "prospects" to tell me they would be waiting outside to kill me after work. To my amazement, the other workers were trading free petrol for marijuana with them. Blaming Maori descent for their criminality and anti-social behaviour is like the recent efforts of the Catholic church to blame "lax social mores" for paedophile priests. They are criminals because they are criminals. Every society has them. |
