| 667021 | 2008-05-07 09:05:00 | Anyone realise how old some of the songs are in TV advertisements? Holden ads: Just a Gigolo (www.box.net), this version by Bing Crosby in 1931. Fly Buys ads: Dream a Little Dream Of Me (www.box.net), the original definitive version, also 1931, Teddy Raph Orchestra with Smith Ballew vocal. |

Started off bad , similar to the sounds made when trying to kill a cat with a claw hammer, Then plummeted once the singing cranked up. |

I think that you are most probably correct, although there are some who renew and there are some advertises that are prepared to pay. What I find difficult to understand is why anyone would watch the ads let alone comment on them. I find ads an intrusion and mute the sound or skip them if recorded. I'm much more interested in the programme that I am watching. |

Or you could just occasionally use your brain to mouth/fingers filter and just let a topic that people are talking about alone if you don't have anything productive to ad to it. Or is that just too much to ask? |

Oh, I do beg your pardon, *grovel, grovel* I was of the, obviously, mistaken opinion that these forums were for all and sundry, *grovel, grovel* and that we are all permitted to mouth off with any stupid bloody comments that spring to mind. That is certainly what has happened in the past. Had I realised that I was offending you I would not have said a word. My humblest apologies. *grovel, grovel* |

It just seemed like you were trying to show some sort of moral superiority for not being interested in ads, which is just ridiculous. Anyway. No need to grovel, and you can say what you like, but if you get cold receptions because of it then don't say you weren't forewarned. |
