Apparently, according to overseas people, the funniest word we say is: Deck

My deck is small....
The deck is rotting....
Got some pics of my new deck...

Friends partner is German and she says yep, it is ....cause our e's become i's....

1443027 2017-12-06 07:41:00 I had a laugh when I saw that video a couple of days ago. It certainly is true of Kiwi-Speak for many, including so many in the media.
I doubt we will ever really go back to the days of "how now, brown cow" but a lot could be improved. The e's often become i's and i's can become u's. As in hip pronounced as hup.

Pronunciation can differ a lot between South Islanders and North Islanders and even various areas within each island.

Who worries how someone from Lancashire speaks, compared to someone from Yorkshire? I know my Lancashire born sister-in-law doesn't.

On that note....have a Mirry Chrustmus everyone.:devil

All I ever noticed was those in Otago and Southland roll their r's. Worrrrrk.
And use some weird terms for things:

Lux - vacuum cleaner
Superheater - Hot water cylinder
