UBC92XLT Scanner.
Is it possible to change the search step increments on airband, (116MHz - 136MHz) to 100kHz
Current setting is 12.5kHz

1442176 2017-11-19 22:22:00 Experts might be on forums, so a Google forum search (goo.gl) might help. Like on radio reference com... (forums.radioreference.com) kahawai chaser (3545)
1442177 2017-11-19 22:46:00 Thanks, I will look into that.
Just thought I'd start here first.
I have found there are a lot of very talented people on here.

1442178 2017-11-19 23:42:00 I had a look at the manual yesterday. There is a table showing the frequency steps for each band. For the 116 -136 MHz it says the frequency is selectable as well as either 12.5Khz or 8.33Khz, BUT I can't see where it tells you how.

I'm thinking it's not adjustable.

The default steps and mode cannot be changed manually on the 92/72XLT (with the exception of the airband which can be changed between 8.33 or 12.5kHz).
These radios use 3 different Bandplan options, each preprogrammed with different step-sizes across it's frequency range.
You literally get the choice of either 5 or 10kHz steps in the VHF PMR band.
This is because these radios were initially designed solely for the American Market, before being released in Europe."

The separate statement in the table of frequencies/steps referring to the air band step frequency being selectable is just meaning choosing either 12.5 or 8.33 MHz which it has already said.. No need for a separate statement, just causes confusion.

1442181 2017-11-20 05:22:00 Never mind, there is near enough to 8 12.5's in 100 so it will still do the job.
Just take a bit longer.
