Hi guys, the other day I attempted to merge a couple of very short home video clips of my horse using VLC. When it saved to my computer it said the clip was over 14hrs long (should have been less than 2mins) and I have been unable to delete it. It has slowed my computer right down and taken up all my disk space and I'm not sure if it's corrupt or a virus. I went on to You Tube and tried a few different methods to get rid of it but nothing has worked. I tried Fileassasin, which ended up coming up with no response, I left it there for about 2hrs and no change and I ended up having to go into task manager to shut it down. I tried Remo Repair AVI, as it says it's an AVI file (although I can't even right click on the file to see propertied) and this couldn't even find it, showed all other videos but that one. I tried following some instructions using cmd and going in to find the <dir> name, which showed all other files with a <dir> name but this particular one had a number instead of <dir> something like 608,101,30 and wouldn't delete that way either, I'm not really sure what to do....any ideas? Also I am not very good with computers so please use layman terms and let me know step by step what I should do. Thanks in advance for any help :) |

Actually it's a .ts file, not sure if this helps but it ends in avi-.ts |

8415 So this is what I have been trying but as you can see I get an error because it seems to be different to the other ones....any ideas? |

Don't use rmdir as it is not a directory, use rm |

Thank you I figured it out, I had to use 'erase' instead of rmdir and I had to use the command prompt in safe mode to get it to work, so happy it's all sorted now :) |
