| 1441764 | 2017-11-10 02:01:00 | My laptop has given up the ghost - it won't even start up - and I would like a recommendation for a PC repairer in Auckland, hopefully near Onehunga. Thanks for your help. |

Not a good part to replace in laptops... You could pull the HDD and retrieve your stuff first, in any case, if not already backed up. |

| 1441766 | 2017-11-10 04:41:00 | Thanks for your suggestion. Pctek, but, unfortunately, it won't even start up on the battery. I'll have to have a look in the yellow pages. | Roscoe (6288) | ||

I can pm you one in Penrose if needed Expect around $250-$300 for that level of repair I only know of 2 laptop repair specialists in Ak who will do motherboard component level of repair, most PC Repairers will just write off or say replace motherboard |

I went to the computer shop in the Royal Oak Mall and they confirmed it was the power pack. A new one cost $49 and now we are back up again. Thank you for all your recommendations. Very helpful. |
