1441521 2017-11-03 23:01:00 Hi all

I've just found a folder in C: that I have no idea how it got there.

The file name is LATemplates and properties say it was created on the 28th of October, 29.6MB and 57 Files which are Word documents.

I scanned the folder, got the all clear and opened it ... They are all Ministry of Justice templates and the LA is stands for "legal aid". The folder hasn't been emailed as an attachment and I'd never put that sort of folder in C: ... anything sent to me goes into either downloads or documents folders. I'm hoping that someone has an idea where to look for more information on how it got there.

It's been a while scince I've been on the forum and would appreciate some advice on what programs ... or are they called "apps" now, to use and in any specific sequence. I'm using ESET and it hasn't found anything, neither has Malwarebytes. The only other thing is, my computer has been slower than usual transferring data from 1 partion to another or backup to external drive, Internet is still Ok at 103Mbps down ... 20 up.

Thanks in advance

A refurbished HDD?

Does it matter? Delete the folder. Sorted.

1441525 2017-11-05 03:56:00 Er.....jen, what has the forum issue got to do with his HDD folder issues?

SP8s, I meant, was the drive, perhaps, actually a refurbished drive when you bought it.....
Can't see any other way you can end up with other peoples data on it.
