2017-11-28 03:24:00 | Fridgemas? Syrian refugee family (Muslim mother father and adult son) have just moved in next door, courtesy of the Red Cross. Pride of place in their new abode is a small Christmas tree. I asked them if they were Christians ... no, No, NO! said they. They just liked presents. Mother and father don't speak English. The father sits around much of the day smoking. When the mother rests, she does so by sitting on the ground. :groan: And the owner of the property, an Asian gentleman playing his own version of Monopoly (this is his third unit at the one street address) happily collects $480 for a 1 bedroom stand alone unit *** where the lounge has been converted to a bedroom - a bedroom which appears to be without external light or ventilation. The back lawn that borders on my area has been dug up in its entirety, and bare soil has been trampled to form walkways. The vegetable garden of course, was dug by the mother (the father may be partially disabled, walking as he does with the aid of a stick). The 20 something year old son appears to do little to contribute to the workload. *** the original occupants of the unit were a young couple that were just outpriced of their rental and just couldn't afford the latest price increase the owner hit them with. :ban May be, it's time to taking on board the lessons Sweden has learnt and is Germany have learning. Refugees by all means but let us accept orphaned children, not men of fighting age.

Pride of place in their new abode is a small Christmas tree. I asked them if they were Christians ... no, No, NO! said they. They just liked presents. Mother and father don't speak English, the son just enough to get by. The father sits around much of the day smoking. | 1442692 | 2017-11-28 04:44:00 | Well said Wal. However, you will draw little comfort from the fact this isnt an isolated incident you talk off. We are not alone, Australia are facing huge problems with some of their refugees and immigrants demanding an Islamic State. So heres some Australian Diplomacy at its best. :D 8464 |

2017-11-28 04:51:00 | Wal, is the above comment true? | Greg (193) | |
2017-11-28 05:18:00 | Sadly Greg, it is (true). Fabrication, tall tales, and humour are the raison d'etre of Monday Laughs, and do not belong in a serious comment about social issues. I could have been more accurate though re my comment about the alterations to the next door unit ... the unit was converted to a 2 bedroom unit by making the original lounge into the second bedroom. | WalOne (4202) | |

2017-11-28 18:22:00 | (this is his third unit at the one street address) Cool - room for Cindy's 150 Manus Island refugees in one of the others. You might wanna start locking stuff up.

2017-11-28 21:28:00 | gross incompetence of someone who doesnt understand the meaning for the season? Which meaning is that? Yours? Mine? someone else's? Who's to say what Christmas means to anyone else but ourselves. I like Xmas, I enjoy the time off, I put up a tree and some lights, I buy presents, and I visit family. I don't however have any religious beliefs and don't get upset by anyone else's interpretation of it, what point is there in that?

2017-11-28 23:17:00 | Halal Certification, which is really just another tax that is imposed by Muslim certifiers and passed on to you the consumer. They charge the retailer to certify the goods, who in turn passes the cost onto the consumer, whilst the profits from the rort go to the Muslim churches. Hmm. One of the cheapest and best butchers here is the Halal butcher on Lincoln Rd. Cheap as, awesome quality, A rating, clean, and polite staff. They ask you how you want whatever it is cut, show you first to confirm, then cut as you wish. Far cheaper than any off the other butchers round here, miles cheaper than the supermarkets. And excellent quality. I shall continue to go there, well, except for pork meat of course....
