1441288 2017-10-30 04:41:00 Did you scroll down the list ?? Its usually nearer the bottom and unticked.

Yes & no it's not on the list.
Could ccleaner have possibly removed part of it & also the entry from that list.
If I check properties of the Windows.old folder, it shows 0 bytes.
But there are a lot of sub folders in there, which I can't access either.

You can try Via a CMD as admin-- see Method 3 from here: www.intowindows.com

1441294 2017-10-30 20:15:00 Thanks for the help guys, but I think I'll wait the 10 days & see if it disappears before trying anything else.
I've tried everything that has been suggested here.
Also tried "Take Ownership"
It's going great atm & I don't want to create any other issues
This is SWMBO's system that died last week.

1441295 2017-10-30 22:45:00 Apart from the fact that you find it annoying the empty Windows.old folder is not taking up space and is doing no harm as you suggest leave it alone and see what happens. It will be reinvented with the next major upgrade anyway.
Next time it would be a good plan to use the built in Windows disk clean program rather than CCleaner.
