| 668623 | 2008-05-12 10:17:00 | Parents just bought a 1995 Nissan Sunny B14. They really like it - apart from one thing. It doesn't have a clock. Theres a 100mm x 40mm dummy plate. Doesn't have a tacho either, but that isn't a problem. Guess the dash designer at Nissan took a sickie that Monday, and they forgot a few things. Heres (www.imagef1.net.nz) a picture...the stereo I put in for them does have a clock, but they still want a 'normal' one. Trying to look for one, and I can't find anything at all. Am gonna ask at an auto electricians/wreckers tomorrow, see if they have any ideas. Anyone got any clues as to where I could find one? TIA. |

Only people with the habit of using them don't get one. If you can get an old Toyota Corona analogue clock, there will probably be no significant error between daylight saving coming and going. Murphy excepted of course. | R2x1 (4628) | ||

| 668630 | 2008-05-14 13:03:00 | So did you go to the wreckers? Any there with a clock? Pic looks to be of the central console, below the vents- are there any spaces above this on the dash itself with blank spaces/faceplates? Might be that different spec models had a clock, seems strange that it wouldn't have one... You could always install one somewhere on the dash, and since it only needs a power supply probably wouldn't cost that much either. Hell, boy racers install heaps of gauges on the dashes of their cars, a clock shouldn't be too complex! lol |

I would probably go in there as their parts manuals will have a diagram that way you would see what it sort of looks like, manual diagrams are indicative only. Get price and availability, it might not be that badly priced as some items never sell so they dont make any profit on them. At least with price in mind then you will have something to compare with when dealing with automotive dismantlers - some of them are real rogues, especially with low demand items. I imagine a clock would be. I am sure an aftermarket clock would work but it would look too out of place and for the extra work involved in mounting and wiring a factory one would be so much neater and simpler to fit - cost dependant. |

Wreckers didn't have any of those cars there, so couldn't check lol, will try another wreckers later on. May end up doing something like that (screwing clock onto dash) boy-racer style, I have no problem doing that kind of thing, but parents aren't that keen on the idea. Cheers though. Great idea about calling Nissan agent, think thats the best option. |
