667979 2008-05-10 10:13:00 If You will be voting this year will you vote National because of their policies, or because you like John Key or just to get rid of Labour ? Digby (677)
667980 2008-05-10 10:48:00 National - Mostly to get rid of Labour but also because of John Key - ANYONE has to be better than another term with Komandant Helen. vitalstatistix (9182)
667981 2008-05-10 11:07:00 it a very small sample so far but...

it looks like most people are voting National, not because they like the leader, not because they like the policy.

why would you vote for a party if you dont like the leader and you dont like the policy?
just to get labour out? Cut off your nose to spite your face??

labour have put in a bit of bad police in the last term and that will hurt them in the polls, but over all they have done very well.
have we been supporting a war?
have we been selling out to the USA?
do we have a unemployment problem?

I expect to be voting labour as long as they give some tax cuts and put more $$ in to health and education.....

it been almost 10 years since we have a national govt, I feel that some people have forgotten the bad days.......

667982 2008-05-10 11:14:00 I think many people are currently looking for a change, especially as the economy is nose diving, and the current government are doing some very strange things with our money. robbyp (2751)
667983 2008-05-10 11:19:00 The next government will be a National govt because threee terms is about the maximum life of any single government in NZ.

Give the country a year to 18 months under National and then look on this forum to see the same whingers saying the very same things here about National that they are now saying about Labour and this coalition.

The National caucus has the lowest talent count that they have had in their history - and they will be appointing a cabinet out of that caucus. About the most able person they've got is Gerry Brownlee, followed by Maurice Williamson. That's about it.

They've got a first term MP leading their opposition to Labour - this is the National Party, one of the oldest names in NZ politics - and they've got a first termer as their leader. ***.

well said......

as I said, I expect to vote labour, but at the same time I expact national to win.
I also expect people to whine about the govt in 2 years time.

Not even 2 years. Deane F has the right idea. 12-18 months at most for calls of "bring back Labour" to start.

John Key can't sustain his policies because he doesn't have any.

Neither did Helen. She is becoming SUPER slippery when "answering" questions put to her by the media at the moment:rolleyes: Something that David Lange perfected back in the 80's (even though I thought he was a good PM)

667988 2008-05-10 12:29:00 Cullen has had 9 years to have given a tax break.

John Key siding with Herr Helen over the anti-smacking bill, finished him off for me.

What's left, nothing, more of the same, who would want to be in power now that the bubble is bursting.

Lurking.
