| 802731 | 2009-08-20 03:47:00 | It has a working AC adaptor and turns on but the screen never turns on and nothing seems to happen No output to the external port either Does anyone know if the problem may be caused by it not having a battery, or know any way to find out? |

| 802733 | 2009-08-20 04:28:00 | I haven't come across a properly working laptop yet that won't start when the battery is out. I assume you mean the main battery, not the BIOS battery? The thing is probably dead, it's as old as the hills! What's the reason for trying to get it going? |

CPU works in another board, can't try the RAM but did take it out/swap it around Since the backlight doesn't even try to come on, I expect either that is faulty and is causing it to not start (though then there should be something on the external monitor port, right?) OR (and I guess more likely) it's the motherboard itself.... |
