668062 2008-05-13 00:26:00 National should be worried by this poll.

Twice as many people want to vote labour out by voting for National than actually want to vote for National because of John Key or their policies (or lack of)

Nah - they'd be quite happy with how UNPOPULAR Labour are. It means the upcoming election should be a breeze.

35/24 in favour of National. All good

Also - I don't think this poll is multichoice. Labour are so unpopular that the primary reason for voting National would be simply to get rid of the vermin Clark/Cullen who are sucking this country dry.

668063 2008-05-13 00:30:00 The worry that concerns me about National being an alternate Government, is that their experienced sitting members have the taint of past failure - little new blood, even less of new ideas -
As I previously remarked, voting in National will make yesterdays men tomorrows men - unfortunately the option of not voting them in is even worse to contemplate - another 3 years of hard Labour -
Politics in New Zealand is a pariah occupation - nobodies fault but the politicians, but why do the many hundreds of thousands of hard working New Zealanders have to suffer successive incompetent self serving governments whose main preoccupation while in power is keeping themselves there.
I would like to suggest that people personally getting involved at grass roots level in the political activity, but the governance both the main parties are structured in such a manner to favour the status quo and so making any change more difficult.
What I am sure of is that MMP is a disaster for NZ, First past the post is unfair and discredited, and I believe NZ needs to change to a system of a single transferable vote - where the exercising of preferences is the voters and not subject to party manipulation.
Unfortunately I can't see NZ politicians voting to tidy their own house -
Do turkeys vote for Christmas and thanksgiving.

That is it right there, Cullen and Bradford, both list MP's, not voted in, I cant understand how they get away with this.....They might as well just ignore the vote period.....

668066 2008-05-13 09:06:00 I hate labour with a passion that is burning my soul, yet I doubt I can vote national...they want to sign us up to the carbon trading nonsense, they have no policy other than "We will invest in education and health."....jeez, ain't that original ?
I want someone radical with some passion who speaks of what he believes and that we can believe what he says...
how about turning NZ into the Switzerland of the south...3% tax, thats it. No dole, DPB or ACC...they wouldn't be needed as thousands of foreign companies would que to start production here.

Dump Kyoto, its just the lefties way of controlling us.

668068 2008-05-13 11:22:00 Nobody would be a better Prime Minister than Helen Clark, so let us settle for Nobody.

Only one man has ever been recorded of going into Parliament with honest intent.
That was Guy Fawkes, and he stuffed up.
