667931 2008-05-10 10:11:00 Asianet was specifically fingered as the problem in a phone call to Orcon today. It is also confirmed by a tracert.

You may want to check these things before posting. Anyway, this is not constructive, I'll leave it at that. Knock yourself out (please).

Unfortionately orcon wouldn't have any real control over the problem, the problem is many links up the chain, with their own providers providers providers provider. All they can do is log a ticket with their own provider. The internet is like that.

667932 2008-05-10 12:59:00 Thank you for your constructive reply Myth. I look forward to assisting you with any future problems you may have.

My concern is a valid one. If you choose to accept Orcons current level of service silently, that is of course your prerogative. I have concerns because they cannot supply what I am paying for and appear to have no real information on when a fix can be expected.

Troll? Where? ^^ :sleepDude, if I need help, I ask the Metlas and co.

So I figure I won't be requiring your help :)

As for this malarchy...

I have concerns because they cannot supply what I am paying for and appear to have no real information on when a fix can be expected... I take it therefore you wont be getting broadband from any ISP in NZ then, because until it becomes fully unbundled, no ISP in NZ can provide the service we are actually paying for yet

If you knew anything of how I.T. worked, you would know that sometimes a timeframe cannot be put on something, because sometimes no matter how long and hard you look at it, knowing it should work; it doesn't

Trolling... lol again wrong... this is polite

667933 2008-05-10 21:32:00 Myth take a chill pill dude and play nice, no need to be so smart! Dont like what this thread is about? Move along...

You may be happy to wait silently for your ISP to fix the issue, others arent. They're not on at you for not being more vocal, so give it a rest please.

They're not on at you for not being more vocal, so give it a rest please.I was just pointing out that there are times when there is no point seeking the pity of a forum when in actual fact the ISP concerned is actually trying to address the problem
Also the fact its been happening since February would make even me change by now. So why hasn't the original poster done this? Maybe the benefits of their ISP outweigh the liabilities?? And if this is the case; why bother complaining? If this isn't the case; and for some reason the thread starter cannot change for some reason, I would have thought a post would have been dropped in here well before now

But anyway; whatever...

by the way Metla, whatever happened with Johns computer?

667935 2008-05-11 02:35:00 Ah but in the initial post the user said they had acknowledged the error, not that they themselves were fixing it.

Pull your head in, be a little nicer mate, its not difficult!
