Is someone trying to win the moron award for wrecking a website with advertising?

I would concur that the ads at the top of the page are excessive. Basically on most screen sizes, they take up the entire page, and you have to scroll down to view the posts. I would actually think that doing this would mean people would click on the ads less, because if you get into the habit of automatically scrolling down after loading the page, the only ads you then see are the ones on the left side of the page. I think there does have to be a balance.
