This film was made in the mid 70s of a guy driving a 1971 Ferrari across Paris.
From Memory he took a bet with a guy that he could do it in under 8 minutes.
I first saw this about 10 years ago. Turn your sound up!!!
:)

669783 2008-05-15 22:27:00 Interesting. Pity about the racket on the sound track. I would have preferred to hear the engine and gear changes, given it was a Ferrari! John H (8)
669784 2008-05-16 00:44:00 The version I have is not the youtube version which has no music.

669785 2008-05-16 05:19:00 No bet involved, The film was made as a professional work, The directer was arrested when it was first shown as a presentation before the main movie, its original title is rendevou, ****e, I have no idea how to spell that word, I'll go have a look .

The directer in question is known worldwide, Though I forget his name, I'll look that up as well, He has never disclosed the name of the driver .

A shortened version was made into a music video by snow patrol, which isn't the music on that track .

Where was the video for 'Open Your Eyes' shot?

The video for the single was actually shot in Paris, however it was not shot especially for 'Open Your Eyes' .

The footage for the promo is taken from "C’était un Rendezvous", a cult-classic short film made in Paris in 1976 by French filmmaker Claude Lelouch .

This is the first time in it’s 30 year history that Lelouch has granted permission to use the footage, though many have tried to acquire the rights to use this beautiful, hair-raising piece of film .

How close does he get to the pedestrian at 6:30!!

Awesome vid btw. I would have loved to be in paris in 1975, pity I wasn't alive.

669791 2008-05-18 22:25:00 Thanks for the version without music! I was really struck this time by the entry into the roundabout around the Arc de Triomphe - listen to the changedowns...

If you really want to scare yourself, look at these lycra clad loons using pedal power across New York...
