804008 2009-08-24 22:55:00 It will become necessary to look at alternatives for input of desktop navigating as I am having issues with the middle knuckles of my left hand, which I use for my mouse control (my PC desk is dedicated for left hand mouse use ony).

I have started to do some research & it seems either a trackball or, preferably at this stage, a touchpad. I do not want to have an integrated keyboard model -though I will require this type in the intermediate future to replace my failing keyboard/joystick one for my HTPC.

The problem I seem to be having is one of availibility. Are there any importers/resellers who have touchpads, or trackballs for purchase on-shore?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Meanwhile, I will keep searching.

804011 2009-08-25 00:00:00 Thanks for the replies. They are no good for me. One is dedicated right handed. The other, I believe will not alleviate the issue I am having; & that is holding my hand over the bulky height of the mouse-type device. Even holding it over to the side, I think will, over time cause similar issues.

That is why I perfer a touchpad: they are lower in height & it will easier to withdraw & put your hand back when navigation is required. If I am to go with a trackball, it will need to be something like the ones here (www.abilitynet.org.uk)

The touchpad I would look at is like this (www.adesso-shop.com)

804012 2009-08-25 01:36:00 I use a Wacom graphics tablet instead of a mouse, due to OOS reasons. It works quite well, and since using it, I haven't had any problems with OOS. somebody (208)
804013 2009-08-25 02:06:00 I managed to overcome this, the solution was kind of obvious. Im right handed, I simply taught myself to mouse with my left aswell. Its alot easier than you might think...

Can I ask what model you use? And do you have to use the supplied pen everytime you use the tablet? Or just your finger? Thanks.

Thats what I did too, and just share the use of the mouse between my left and right hand.

I use the PTZ 631 W. The bigger the better, espeically if you have dual screen, and if you find it too big, you can set it so it just uses a portion of hte tablet. You have to use the pen that comes with it, which is powered by the surface of the tablet. You can't use your finger, as it isn't a touch device, although their are touch slides on each side, for scrolling and zooming.
