803563 2009-08-23 09:36:00 Hey all,

I'm running DD-WRT on an Asus WL-520GU router functioning as a repeater bridge. I've just upgraded the security on my network to WPA2 - all seems to be working well, but my old laptop (a 2001 IBM A22e with a PCMCIA WLAN card) doesn't seems to support WPA2.

I don't want to roll back to WPA just because of that old laptop, and was wondering whether it is possible, using DD-WRT, to create a second SSID using MAC address filtering, and WPA just for that laptop.

Is this possible? No biggie if it's not - I'll just use Cat5 :p

Thanks :)

Does the IBM laptop have the latest SP?

803565 2009-08-23 11:15:00 Yes, it has XP SP3.

I have supposedly created a new SSID (wl0.2 with no security), but it does not show up in the list of SSIDs when I scan the air. The SSID is set to broadcast.

803566 2009-08-23 11:18:00 Did you create a new SSID or BSSID? Blam (54)
803567 2009-08-23 11:20:00 SSID, I don't see anything to do with BSSIDs on the web interface. jwil1 (65)

803571 2009-08-24 20:38:00 Yes, just create a new virtual wireless interface, you can set the security to something completely different.
