670615 2008-05-19 06:55:00 You're lucky they haven't caught you

They were actually pretty good about it the first time. They said they wouldnt pay my wages so I said I cant accept it.

They said as I am the sole operator here at peak times too that was a good enough excuse.

So they have decided to keep asking me every 6 months.... are they waiting til I change jobs???

670616 2008-05-19 07:01:00 I've never been summoned. 2 weeks is a long time to not be working so I don't know if I would go if I was summoned. Greven (91)

Maybe they are waiting for you to go out of business . :)
Is being a sole operator or sole employee of your own company a good enough excuse for them? I don't know what I would do if I was summoned, as I own and operate my own business by myself, and have clients who rely on my services, so I must be able to be able to be contacted during business hours . I wouldn' be able to just employ someone, as it would probably take about a month to fully train them, let alone not being able to afford an employee .

Especially if you have got a mortgage, and are the 'bread winner'. I don't know what people in those situations do.

670619 2008-05-19 07:22:00 Yup Robby, if your business sole relies on you, especially if you have specialist skills, they have no worries letting you be. rob_on_guitar (4196)
