| 669359 | 2008-05-29 03:03:00 | Actually, as part of MS deal with continuing to sell XP Home, Touchscreens cant be bundled as part of UMPC's, nor can the screen be larger than 10.5" IIRC... Im happy even with the 701, but admittedly the larger screen size (1024x600 instead of 800x480) would be nicer. HDD space isnt an issue, $50 for an 8GB SDHC card and thats plenty. You'd be surprised how easy it is to live without an optical drive! :D |

At this stage I might just wait until it all stabilises and I'll be able to get a 32" sub notebook for $30... with a touch screen. They are improving(?) so rapidly, that the one I fancy won't even need me. It will just e-mail me saying how much it has done for me this week, and how much I have enjoyed it. I can devote myself totally to filtering the headaches out of beer. ;) |
