804018 2009-08-25 03:08:00 Sorry. If i was interested in even entertaining the possibility of transferring the issue, due to my particular physiological makeup & it's apparent weaknesses, I wouldn't have bothered wasting people's time.

As I work with my hands for a job -& not just pen-pushing- I want a solution that removes ALL possibilities of recurrence.

The only way is trial and error. To remove ALL possibilities, you would have to not use a computer at all. You can get RSI injuries from track pads too, as well as any other input devices, it is more about managing RSI , once you have it.

804020 2009-08-25 04:29:00 Can I ask what model you use? And do you have to use the supplied pen everytime you use the tablet? Or just your finger? Thanks.

Wacom Graphire 4 CTE-440. I've had it since... early 2008 I think.

You have to use the pen which comes with it - you can't use a finger (or anything else) as these tablets work differently from laptop touchpads.

804022 2009-08-25 21:19:00 I can certainly vouch for this: http://www.mobileairmouse.com

Not to mention it's a good excuse to get a cool new toy to play with (iTouch) :D

Only down side is it's not quite as large some of the other larger touchpads I've seen.

804023 2009-08-27 04:35:00 Thanks for the replies. It does give me some food for thought.

@Sue, glad I was sitting down when I realised the price was in $US :D

@Chilling_Silence, don't think I will buy an iPhone as an excuse, just yet. Would go some way aviod losing your damned phone, though ;)

It is like I originally thought, though. There isn't much in the way of on-shore alternatives for touchpads.

Also, had a look at this (cgi.ebay.com CA_Mice_Trackballs?hash=item414866d38f&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14)

804024 2009-10-28 05:34:00 Just to close this thread off, I decided to purchase this (cgi.ebay.com 0QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) touch keypad. Arrived today & using it now. Is a little learning curve, as it's different to anything I have previously used, but appears to be a good alternative as a reasonable price.

Guess only time will tell as to it's durability. I'm happy now, though. Cheers.
