670042 2008-05-16 10:25:00 If so, I am looking for a medium to high resolution photo or a good photocopy of an advertisement on page 13. It will/should be by (or for) EMI and will show a technical instrument as one, two or three components.

I already have one of these instruments, in two separate components (the tuning and metering section and a calibrator section) but minus the power supply.

To search further for the missing part I need to know more details, hence my need to see this advert.

Cheers

Thanks, but I don't think I'll need to buy the whole mag just to look at one advertisement . I am sure that somebody here (or if I'm extra lucky, maybe even on the UK vintage radio forum I occasionally frequent) will have a copy and take a snap for me .

I asked here first because I've been around a while :D and know that PF1 is generally friendly, and the odds are that somebody will be able to help .

The UK forum is rather different, I'm newish there and they are very "stiff upper-lipped" and formal . One of their moderators gave me a blast just for asking him a question and when I commented on the unfriendly tone, I got the "%$@#-off if you don't like it" message, not quite in those words but very close . They just arbitrarily delete posts if you get them in the wrong sub-forum!

By comparison Metla would be your genial and kindly host, and PF1 is an extra warm and cuddly lovefest .

Cheers

670045 2008-05-17 09:12:00 The library at Industrial Research CRI used (when I was there) to have all copies of Wireless World going right back.
Some good soul there may be able to help.

I have a friend who works there.

I'll email him and see if they have it.

Hold the front page, an email overnight from the UK tells me that WW, 1950, P13 has only an ad for a Cossor oscilloscope, and the sought after ad appears nowhere in that issue (which amazingly was the only copy of WW the person responding had!!)

So, until the original poster contacts me with the correct details, I can go no further, but your suggestions are noted and I will come back to this thread as soon as I hear back.

Cheers
