| 669948 | 2008-05-16 06:13:00 | If I uploaded my tracks (the ones I posted here) to something like Limewire for somebody to download at their end (say they have trouble with the direct links I have already provided), is there are chance it can infected with a virus or is it once its on limewire its a free for all? | rob_on_guitar (4196) | ||
| 669949 | 2008-05-16 07:07:00 | You don't actually upload the file anywhere with Limewire. It just stays on your PC in your shared files folder which then get shared on the Limewire network when you are running it. Once it has been downloaded by someone then there is more than one source available for anybody else that wants to download it. If it doesn't have a virus in it on your machine then it can't get one from Limewire. |

So if two people download it, they also become seeders of the file and you loose all control of it . But you can take down the file tracker once your friend has it, denying access to anyone else. To be honest any file posted at say, The Pirate Bay, by an unknown artist would not attract too much (if any ) interest. And, as always, you should only post files that you have copyright permission to... |

| 669953 | 2008-05-16 07:19:00 | Just listened to your "idea g " on Box.net......you're pretty good. Can I download it and play around with it in Garageband, if I come up with a good mix I'll let you know and I'll find a way to share it with you. I think you can send mp3s as email attachments too... |

| 669954 | 2008-05-16 07:29:00 | TBH, if they're having trouble downloading from even box.net (very useful for controlled distribution of files) then using Limewire/Bittorrent is only gonna complicate the matter. | sal (67) | ||

Yea, I think we just toying with the notion more then anything, neither of us are regular limewire/torrent users. Box.net is kickass though. Limepile: You want to try and get a good mix of this one too? Or is it beyond salvage? www.box.net |
