805052 2009-08-29 03:44:00 Trying to install Virtual PC mode RC for a customers PC running W7 HP RTM here.

Everytime I try this pops up:

Any ideas?

Cheers

Windows XP Mode will only run on Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Ultimate editions

Yep - its because it looks like you have not installed the first part - have a look at the two files - one the KB and the other Actual XP Mode, Download from here (www.microsoft.com) -- The first part is the KB you are having errors with ( look at the KB number) - that HAS to be installed first (make sure you get the right One, 86 or 64)- then I reboot, THEN install the actual XP mode.

In the first post you say "Virtual PC mode " Second post "XP Mode package" -- I took it as XP mode (from the title) -- Which one Please??

Refer to my edited post if XP mode.:D

805057 2009-08-29 05:23:00 User is going to buy an upgrade to Ultimate.

805058 2009-08-29 05:44:00 When I tried it on HP - it installed - and I thought :banana

BUT when I tried to open it :groan: Came up with a message " Not Supported on this Operating system" (words to that effect)

Could you trick it into thinking it's running Professional instead of Home Premium?
