804512 2009-08-26 06:46:00 1.1:Windows XP updates wont install When I shutdown or tell them to install manually. I have been having this problem for 3/4 of a year. I know I still have this problem because I installed the updates last night. Morning came, still the same numbers of updates.

1.2:Windows XP SP3

1.3:Acer laptop
Extensa 2302LC
Intel Celern M 330 processor (1.4ghz)
240 MB of RAM

1.4:Some updates wont install? (No idea really.)

1.5:Completly Defraged the laptop, Virus scanned

What happens if you go to the windows update website and download the updates manually, open IE then go tools, windows update 		gary67 (56)

804515 2009-08-26 07:37:00 What updates exactly? Some updates REQUIRE certain files (or updates to be installed) in order to install. And if the prerequisite file/s arent on the system, it wont install / it'll fail. Open my computer go to C:\windows, look for windowsupdate a txt file. Open it. Ticked all the boxes, run the programme, restarted the computer and no change.

Kill the firewall and see if updating works. Are you using any proxies?? If you are, disable them

This is what 0x8024402c means (support.microsoft.com) something isnt configured properly.

Try this from the above MS site

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.

Note If the menu is not available in the Internet Explorer window, press the ALT key on the keyboard to display the menu.
3. Click the Connections tab, click LAN Settings, and then click Advanced.
4. Delete any entries in the Exceptions section, and then click OK.
5. Close Internet Explorer.
6. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
7. Type the following commands. Press ENTER after each command.
* proxycfg -d
* net stop wuauserv
* net start wuauserv

I have no idea why prison tycoon is there :/ Its an old game that I download at the stsrt of the year.
