671455 2008-05-22 19:31:00 They are blaming the rise on overnight rises. However the existing petrol in the tanks of the service station shouldn't be effected by this rise, if that is the true reason for the rise.

That's always the case it goes up the instant there is even a sniff of oil going up but if oil comes down in price don't expect a response for at least a month, saw the big oil cheeses on tv last night and boy did they look smug as the insisted all the profits were re invested time for some show and tell I think to prove it.

671456 2008-05-22 21:00:00 Blame consumers and the major governments of the world doing nothing to curve increasing consumption. There was always a point were demand exceeded supply and we have finally reached it, you would be naive to believe supply could increase forever, in fact supply is set to fall making things a lot worse.

Oil company's are make huge profits no question, however now demand exceeds supply speculation has taken over as the large greedy financial institution drive prices through the roof.

Don't "Just" blame Oil company's.

671457 2008-05-22 22:37:00 Just noticed today petrol at $2 for 91

I noticed too as I filled my car, ready for the homeward journey of 28km in rain and freezing winds.

Well the crude price did drop back over night, so have these oil companies now dropped the price. I think not.

Very nice of you there Zqwert to offer your moral support. Just as long as it doesn't get in the way of you tallying up all the carbon emissions the carnage of WWIII would bring.

671464 2008-05-23 07:33:00 I noticed too as I filled my car, ready for the homeward journey of 28km in rain and freezing winds.

Which, of course, is why I use my car rather than a cycle and there is no public transport to get me to work.
