805189 2009-08-29 22:27:00 Can you boot off the CD and do a repair of the O/S? Sweep (90)
805190 2009-08-29 22:53:00 Try this first -- Boot from the Windows CD, select R to enter the recovery Console (press Enter after each command to move on) . Follow prompts through until you get till C:\Windows>

Once there, type in cd \ ( note space after cd) you will now be at C:\ type in chkdsk /r <press enter> chkdsk will now run. Once finished, type in fixboot.

It may prompt you with a warning but continue through it and once fixboot has finished type: EXIT and click enter.

See if the PC will boot normally, if not try safe mode.

If still not working you can try running system restore.

805193 2009-08-29 23:58:00 Cool, glad it worked :banana

The next step was to run system restore from the recovery console, normally its a longggg process, but I came a cross an article yesterday - looked to easy :nerd: - tried it on a customers PC that wouldn't boot and bugger me it worked :punk - longest time was to boot into the recovery console - now to fix it fully.

As they say in the movies-- "My job is done" --- off to mow the laws before we get blown away ( weather forcast)
