671802 2008-05-23 06:11:00 Dear all,
I am trying to picture in my mind how shear stress acts on the liquid within a pipe. According to Wikipedia (en.wikipedia.org), it is a form of stress which occurs on the boundary of liquid / pipe. Does it act along the direction of the flow of the liquid? Is it responsible for slowing the flow of liquid along the boundary?

Cheers :)
