| 671777 | 2008-05-23 03:05:00 | Hi there, My name is Zoie-Alishia and I was born in New Zealand . A very close friend of mine tragically passed away and I want to get a tattoo in her memory . She was Maori and taught many different types of dance to anyone who was willing to learn . She meant the world to me and I want to get something that is very special to me and in loving memory of her . I want to get the saying “Dance like no one’s watching” tattooed in Maori, but am finding it impossible to get an accurate translation for it! I don’t want to disrespect her or the Maori culture by getting an incorrect translation tattooed on me, so would greatly appreciate your assistance or any help you can give me! I have PM'd Myth but no reply :( The translation I got for it (‘Kanikani me te mea kāore tētahi i te mātakitaki’) was from a gentleman who has studied the Maori language but I now just need to double check to make sure it is 100% correct before I get it perminantly inked . Thanks also for your advice John but I have put a LOT of thought into this and it is exactly what I want =) Thanks guys . |
