805028 2009-08-28 23:34:00 I have a Gigabyte S series mobo on a PC I've built myself.
It has an onboard NIC, which has worked fine until a couple of weeks ago, when it just disappeared.
I had a spare Netgear NIC card, which I put in the machine, so I do have networking. But, only with my XP HDD. I have Win7 on another HDD and the replacement card will not work with this install.
Nothing at all shows up in the device manager.

Anyone got any thoughts on this one?

805029 2009-08-29 00:24:00 Is the onboard NIC enabled or disabled in the BIOS? nofam (9009)
805030 2009-08-29 07:39:00 Also check in the Device manager - or from the control Panel the LAN connections - just lately I have had to deal with several people who's LAN connection stopped working , each time it had been disabled. wainuitech (129)

I can't get the onboard NIC to work (or even be identified), but I've got the Netgear card working with Win7, so in a sense the problem's solved.

Here's a link to the "workaround", just in case it could be useful to someone else.
