805001 2009-08-28 11:31:00 Hi - I am a teacher and have to log on to my school issued laptop with my name and password. When I do this, I get the windows xp screen with my own background picture on, then I also get a window come up on it saying 'running logoff scripts' then it goes back to having to put my username and password on.

Please help.

Thanks

805002 2009-08-28 11:43:00 Have you tried pressing F8 while booting up, then selecting Last Known Good Configuration on that screen? feersumendjinn (64)

failing that you may need to talk to your school network administrator (possibly is trying to connect with the schools server?, is there any other domains etc listed in the logon requester?).

805005 2009-08-28 12:11:00 See if you can get into safe mode with command prompt.

If you can, At the command prompt, type

C:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe <Press Enter>

That will bring up system restore - run it back to before the problem started.

PS: Welcome to PF1 :)

805007 2009-08-28 12:17:00 Be careful doing any repair installs or removing reg entries, it may very well stop you logging in back at school .

May pay to talk to the schools tech people .

805008 2009-08-29 02:11:00 The school may have deployed a script via GP that might be stuffing it up...

What happens when you try safe mode? any errors?
