| 804552 | 2009-08-26 15:29:00 | I am new, forgive me if I am in the wrong place. I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop with Windows XP. I have gotten the dreaded Blue Screen Stop Error three times recently. I am never doing the same thing when it pops up. I have checked my drivers with the Dell Driver Reset Tool and everything looks fine there. I have uninstalled the latest software (Picasa 3) that I downloaded. Below is the Stop Error Codes that the blue screen listed the last time (do not know if they were the same all three times or not). 0X0000007E (0XC0000005, 0X00700053, 0XA8F39758,0XA8F39454) When I restarted my computer the error report that was sent to Microsoft gave me this information: C:\Docume...............\WER1388.dir00\mini082509. 01.dmp C:\Docume...............\WER1388.dir00\sysdata.xml Please someone help me if you know what I am dealing with. | 804553 | 2009-08-26 15:42:00 | Try the points listed here: support.microsoft.com Have you used the Dell utility to update drivers recently or installed software that allows you to access or control the computer remotely? If yes, get rid of the remote control software first and then monitor if it happens again, if drivers then you may need to revert back to older drivers (should be available on Dell support website). If no - on both then read the Microsoft steps on it and see if that helps. |

The CHKDSK /P command is diagnostic only...it performs and exhuastive check of the drive, but does not make any changes to the drive. In otherwords, it doesn't fix anything. Now, on the other hand, the CHKDSK /P /R will locate bad sectors and recover readable information. So --- /r Locates bad sectors and recovers readable information (implies /f and /p) Doesn't hurt to run /P because /P Checks disk even if it is not flagged as "dirty". |
