| 672914 | 2008-05-27 00:13:00 | It's the dust in the case that causes it. I know exactly what your talking about. Best thing to do is take most of the PC apart, clean out all the dust, especially the PSU and CPU fans/heatsinks. You'll want to take the case off the PSU, and clean all the dust out. It's amazing how much cigarette smell a PC will retain. Also take out any case fans and get rid of any dust stuck in between the fan and the case. I have seen a PC, that spent a good 5 years in a smokers house, the chap had a pipe, and smoked perpetually. Within 10 mins of turning the PC on, the whole office smelled like an old ashtray. |
