805533 2009-08-30 23:59:00 Am wanting to get a fairy high end PC – use Pinnacle Studio quite a lot.
Will wait until W7 is official and go with a 1TB HDD.
What about RAM, processor and video card etc?
Looking at spending about $2500 (PC only – no monitor etc).
Thanks

805534 2009-08-31 01:56:00 If you aren't going to play games and Pinnacle Studio doesn't make use of the GPU (very few apps outside of games do), i'd go for something with integrated graphics and several gb of memory (if you are going to use more than 4gb, get 64 bit win 7). utopian201 (6245)

805536 2009-08-31 05:02:00 If anything will speed up the PC, a Solid State Disk will, So, I'd go for the new i5 platform, integrated graphic etc, but with SSD c: drive and storage on the 1TB SolMiester (139)
805537 2009-08-31 05:09:00 Yeah, definitely an i7 or i5, 6GB RAM, Win7 x64 and a SSD for the OS drive. You could always grab a basic graphics card if you wanted, 4650 or something like that, I put one in a new PC today and was quite impressed with it considering it's worth just over $100.

This PC would move along quite nicely and be great for video work...
