805522 2009-08-30 23:58:00 I need to replace a cpu fan - as it doesn't work anymore.

It is a
CoolMaster Model AFB0712HHB DC12.v 0.45a

I can get a CoolMaster 12V 0.30 Amps

will the difference in amperage affect the computer operation / coolness...

Thank you

805524 2009-08-31 01:30:00 Thank you - have done - no reply yet - will wait patiently. NZHawk (4093)
805525 2009-08-31 12:31:00 That rating only shows you how much electric current the fan draws.

It does not have any direct correlation to the performance of the fan

(the new one might be more efficient and not need as much power)

Are you replacing the whole heatsink assembly or just the fan on top?

805526 2009-08-31 23:47:00 I had planned on only replacing the fan. NZHawk (4093)
805527 2009-09-01 11:23:00 I've just replaced one for an oldish AMD cpu. The whole cooler only cost about $30 Phil B (648)
805528 2009-09-01 12:04:00 The old one this www.techexcess.net fan from one of these?: www.ed-it.co.nz

According to that site, it's:

speed- 3050~6000 RPM
airflow- 21~41 CFM

as long as you get those similar (with same or higher airflow rating) you shouldn't get any overheating problems.

See if you can get the info on the fan you want to buy...
