805448 2009-09-09 06:00:00 The 2nd one would be better than the sempron and celeron IMO Speedy Gonzales (78)
805449 2009-09-09 06:11:00 Another vote for the second one due to processor. Sweep (90)

805451 2009-09-09 06:30:00 Athlon is better than Sempron or Celeron, 2nd one gets my vote too... Agent_24 (57)
805452 2009-09-09 06:40:00 Awesome! Thank you all.

So I'm guessing the specs of the CPU is most important?

Time to go shopping :)

805453 2009-09-09 06:47:00 A faster CPU is always better, but quality of other parts is also good too.

eg: always get a good quality PSU and a decent brand motherboard (and video card if you're gaming)

805454 2009-09-09 07:18:00 I vote 2nd one too, put the Thermaltake PSU in it too (if you've still got it). feersumendjinn (64)
805455 2009-09-09 07:18:00 Definitely the second.

Celeron? Sempron? Maybe for a low power server, but not for a desktop!

I suggest you change supplied PSU for one with a decent brand for around $100

Might seem like a lot-but if the PSU fails and kills other parts with it then you'll wish you got a decent PSU!

Yep, definitely going to do that. I asked the shop today what PSU it uses and they said "ISO 420W" (www.eoneonline.co.nz). I've never heard of it.

The case is Easteck ET-3383BS (www.eoneonline.co.nz).

805457 2009-09-10 08:19:00 Both are generics..

Case is OK for basic usage, but not the PSU.
