| 805958 | 2009-09-01 09:45:00 | Don't think that Slingshot plan is ADSL2+? Hard to tell, their website is hopeless. I agree with you. Often got lost on their site even I logged in. Today I tried to check their new broadband plans, one page requested me to enter my telephone number. There is no instructions there, say my number is 1234567, when I enter the number, it bacame (12) 34-567. I tried to enter 09-1234567, then it doesn't accept, I got cut short and bacame (09) 12-345! Keep asking me to try again! I don't understand how those EXPERTS did this job! [edited: link removed] |

| 805959 | 2009-09-01 12:25:00 | Hi everyone I have a headache to choose the right plan. I signed up with Slingshot back several years ago for $50 unlimited data a month. But they have been giving me like dial up speed long time ago. It is so slow that I have to sit in front of the computer to wait for a normal webpage to show up! Sure it's not something wrong with the line etc? |

If you already have a Telecom land line, and all your calling with them, you can also look at Xtra's Pro package, 40GB per month for $79.95, with no speed limits either upstream or downstream - except what your line is physically capable of. However, their over-use charges are higher than most other ISPs - $0.02/MB, or about $20/GB if you go over your 40GB. They also have the Big Time plan which is $59.95 a month, with no limits, but a fair use policy. As someone already mentioned, initial feedback on this plan has been pretty good, but if it becomes more popular it may be throttled to lower speeds, who knows. |

They slow us down only after we have used our limit... ( don't need a lecture, have 2 teens on the thing almost every waking moment and the wife discovered Hulu ) and Slingshot has the cheapest top ups. IMO I'd steer clear of Telecom as much as possible !! |
