673263 2008-05-28 02:19:00 Hi all, It's true. We've reviewed the position and decided not to lock handsets, despite it being international best practice.

We spoke to a number of customers and customer advocates and they all said the same thing so we've listened and now we're going to put what we've heard into action.

Anyone with a handset that is locked will be able to unlock it for free. Just follow the instructions on the box.

Cheers

Paul

673265 2008-05-28 06:41:00 Since when has international best practice been screwing your customers into staying with you?

Customer goodwill is worth more than most businesses seem to realise. Having unlocked handsets not only means you can lose business to telecom, it also means you can potentially take it too.

Now if only you guys pull your thumbs out and actually compete. At the moment it's like a jelly fight in a strip bar, all for show. We want blood.

And to be fair, we deserve it too.

673267 2008-05-28 07:18:00 Paul, does that include the iPhone when it finally (officially) arrives? johcar (6283)
673268 2008-05-28 07:20:00 Paul, does that include the iPhone when it finally (officially) arrives?

One would expect that it would.
