805495 2009-08-30 23:53:00 Hi

I am wanting to convert VCD to a DVD so i can play on my DVD player which does not play VCDs

Not sure what software i need but i would like to use a freebie software which is not overly complex.

When i browse the VCD contents i see these root folders:

VCD
MPEGAV
EXT
CDI
SEGMENT

Although on one of the VCDs i dont see the folders CDI and SEGMENT

Anyone has done this sort of conversion before. Any other tips will be appreciated as i will be doing it for first time

805496 2009-08-31 00:17:00 I'm yet to see a DVD player that doesnt do VCD / SVCD.

It would be much easier for you to figure out why it's not playing the VCD than to convert it.

That said, there should be a large .DAT file on there which is probably the whole "video", simply renaming that to .MPG and using anything such as WinAVI Video Convertor ought to work :)

Ages ago I tried Ashampoo Shirink and Burn (www2.ashampoo.com) - I had Version 2 its up to V3. The trial will work for free - so if wont cost anything to try.
