673963 2008-05-30 11:54:00 I am wanting to buy a 19inch LCD Monitor for my PC.

I am thinking of buying HP w1907 19 inch which is US$230

I am mostly keen on getting one that as vivid and rich colors.
Wont be playing too much games but mainly DVDs etc

Is this monitor good enough? Also is ViewSonic VX1940w 19" a better Option then HP?

Any other suggestions for 19inch LCD displays would be great. Dont prefer Dell/Acer/Samsung brands.

thanks

673964 2008-05-30 12:05:00 Viewsonic all the way.

Asus and Samsung come a close second.

673965 2008-05-30 13:06:00 I second that. If colors and quality are the top of the list, you can't go wrong with viewsonic but I prefer Samsung.

HP monitors look cool though :)

673966 2008-05-31 11:03:00 I have a Viewsonic VX1940W - the first 1680*1050 19" monitor (that resolution always started at 20" previously). No frills, just a great monitor. AvonBill (11358)
673967 2008-05-31 12:29:00 I have a Samsung SynchMaster 940B. I do quite a bit of photography so colour is important to me. I'm happy with mine (for the moment!). Probably NOT top of the range for the job - everything is a compromise. R.M. (561)

673969 2008-06-01 00:00:00 Monitors are a very personal thing. I just got a 19" Samsung at work (which I really looking forward too) and frankly am disappointed at the sharpness. I have an older 17" Philips and this is sharper. Of course I may get used to the Samsung. Best to try before you buy. dolby digital (5073)

673971 2008-06-01 02:33:00 Yes personal.

some may like the look of one where others may hate it, screens can be set at the same resolution etc, and be vastly different.

i have a CMV i like it, i have also had Veiwsonic (and used ) and i like them a lot as well, i have a 19" one and vow never to get anything smaller again

go into a shop and try some out, even tho shop lighting makes them different often.

I would like to try before I buy but haven't been able to find any shops that have anything other than monitors sold with PC systems on display.
