806923 2009-09-05 00:46:00 Im scanning some documents and they come out as a jpg, is there a program that can convert the text in the scanned image into text? so I don't have to type it all out. Sting Ray (15196)
806924 2009-09-05 01:24:00 You'll need to find yourself some sort of orc software.
There are some free online... Can't say how they work though...

806925 2009-09-05 01:38:00 Hi Sting Ray. Check out your scanner manual. I have a Cannon Lide 25 scanner which has an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) option. ;) Scouse (83)
806926 2009-09-05 03:21:00 I use Textbridge Pro, and after you get it all trained, it runs pretty good.

But then ----- there are times!

Free OCR was a blow-out.

806927 2009-09-06 12:48:00 If you have MS Office then you can use Microsoft Office Document Imaging.

Under Office Tools in the start menu.

It only works with TIF files, so you will have open the JPG in pain and save as TIF.

If you don't have MS Office then try these:

806928 2009-09-06 13:20:00 I hardly ever used OCR myself, when I did it was the Textbridge that came with my scanner. Though I expect there is a much better version of it now Agent_24 (57)
