674147	2008-06-03 00:28:00	Roscoe, we'd love to have you along, particularly for the help you could give us with our cameras....can you fit in a camera bag?:lol: We had a brief look at Cologne and a day cruise on the Rhine about 3 years ago, just enough to whet the appetite. So when our friends suggested we do this cruise, we jumped at the idea. I remember being at the top of the Dom (cathedral) and an American said "we bombed the heck out of this place during the war". I told him my grandfather was in the army of occupation there at the end of the 1st World War and perhaps we'd better keep quiet about it. But you're right, looking at photos of the place in it's flattened state during the '40's and what it's like now, is quite marvellous. We're going to be in Amsterdam for our 40th wedding anniversary and our son tells us "if you remember being in Amsterdam, you weren't there":eek:	jcr1 (893)

I'll get my slimming pills out immediately . Be certain to be looking out the window and pointing camera if you can as you approach Schiphol Airport (Luchthaven Schiphol) . If you would oblige by opening the camera bag flap, I'll point it out . Everything is so flat, the roads and canals are so straight and they seem to go forever . Well worth a few metres of tape . 674149	2008-06-03 05:32:00	Trouble is Roscoe, I think we're going to Amsterdam by train (well that's the last I heard. We've let our friends organise that). I went to Noel Leemings yesterday, as they had 20% off just about everything, and bought a Panasonic HDD camera. Brought it home, hated it, took it back for a refund today. So, we're going to settle on our JVC miniDV camera- and this is kinda what you, Bantu & Kenj have been saying "go for tape". Did get a Lumix TZ-15 though, which I think I'm really going to like:D	jcr1 (893)
674150	2008-06-03 06:06:00	Sounds like you are almost ready jcr1. The Lumix cameras get good reports in D-Photo magazine normally. Get a good size fast memory card for it. You can drop into Internet Cafe's and get the card burned to a CD in most places, or have them transferred to a flash drive. I normally take a Photo Bank with me which has a Laptop hard drive and accepts most camera cards, I just transfer the photos onto that each day. Considering my daughter took just on 1000 photos on a week trip to Aussie the memory cards fill fast. What model JVC Video Cam did you get? I worked all over Europe on a tour bus for 3 years, and since the Inlaws are from the UK we are over that way ourselves every 3-4 years. I hope you really enjoy your trip and get plenty of photos and video footage, I deeply regret not taking enough when I was there on the buses, a lot of places I will never get to see ever again. Eg Berlin Wall, Russia as it was, Yugoslavia etc.	Bantu (52)
674151	2008-06-03 08:45:00	We bought a JVC GR-D270, in Singapore, a couple of years back. The trouble is the manual is written in Arabic and another in Chinese. So we've really just bumbled around with it. However, this evening I downloaded an English manual, so I should be able to get a lot more out of the camera from now on.	jcr1 (893)
