673771 2008-05-30 06:41:00 This actually happened to me when I was 14 years old.

The 'Field' pitch we were playing on was high along the middle & low at each goal end. I was our Goalie & I could only see the top half of the far end goal.

It was on full time & a drawn game. I took a Goal kick & lofted it over the halfway line. Their Goalie had come up to the "Top" & I kicked the ball over his head. It beat him to his goal & we won the match.

Their goalie "Lost It" & rushed up to me shouting that I had made a fool of him. He hit me in the face & knocked me out. He got the cane @ his school & banned from football.

True story. PJ

No. This was a village school somewhere out of Eastbourne in Sussex, UK. The Pitch was actually a paddock & first grazed by cows & then sheep to get the grass down. The cowpats were still there but thankfully DRY.

Incidentally. I was a lousy goalkeeper, I did not like throwing myself onto frozen hard ground. My regular position after that was as Full Back.

Not very good at Football or Cricket. Very good at Hurdles & the 220yds. 100 was too short & the 400 was too long. Extremley good at Tennis. PJ.

673779 2008-06-02 02:28:00 Also when you are so far up that the goalie wants to get in on the act and score too.
I remember the Man U Goalkeeper used to do this- managed to score a goal or two, and had it backfire as well! lol German guy, anyone remember his name? I keep getting it mixed up with Michael Schaumacher(sp?)...

673780 2008-06-02 19:51:00 Peter Schmeichel - The Great Dane. He'd venture forward when needed (notably Champions League Final 1999 vs Bayern Munich, up there prowling the 6-yard box. What a win that was!). He scored a couple over his career that way, and was even a reliable penalty taker too.

He also got beaten by the tactic a couple of times, once in the Euro Finals when playing for Denmark.

Damn fine 'keeper though, probably the best there ever was.

Beckham's a poofter. Always has been, always will be.
