2009-09-05 13:35:00 Your comment, "due to the increased number of writes it may wear the drive out quicker". Are flash drives limited to writes? I use it as a "small" back up disk and write to it, once a week. Ian

2009-09-05 21:08:00 I used to work with a guy we called, Speedy and Speedy Gonzales in Paeroa. We are both in our 50's now. So if you in this age group you'd know floopies, 5 1/2 & 3 something. Ian ianhnz (4263)
2009-09-05 21:41:00 My school got their first computer just weeks before I left in 83 I think and it had a 5 1/2 floppy gary67 (56)
2009-09-05 22:27:00 Sounds about right. I bout my first computer in 1992. It was a 386, SX25 with 8 MB's ram and I very small hard drive. While I had it I put 16 MB ram. dos 6.2 and Windows 3.11, worked quite well. :clap:clap:clap Things have well and truly changed over the years. :badpc: If you wana see my latest computer have a look at my Trade Me profile at ianalice1. I still use the 3 1/4 disks, but not much. ianhnz (4263)
2009-09-06 00:17:00 I find Floppies still very useful - particularly when it comes to formatting a computer, creating partitions etc :). davidmmac (4619)
