I guess it matches the forum. There is such thing as ad overkill, you just end up tuning it out.

675543 2008-06-05 10:30:00 Pretty sure the last PC world mag I bought had a huge middle section of advertising that claimed to be a buyers guide, No guidence included, just marketing.

Entire magazine went in the bin less then 10 minutes later. Should have just bought a fishburger and coke.

675545 2008-06-05 11:13:00 There's a bit too much advertising.I've kinda stopped buying PC world as I don't think I find the stuff a bit useful.

I find PC authority alot more interesting to read

675546 2008-06-06 00:50:00 I noticed too. Ads are one thing, but I hate it when ads pretend to be "informative" and stuff like that (Brand Power is a great example of this). Just skipped right over it. ubergeek85 (131)
675547 2008-06-06 01:34:00 meh, if it wasn't for ads, the magazines would be dearer and you do get to the point you don't really notice them,
I remember many years ago PCPlus a UK mag that I read religously it came with free covermount 3.5 floppy disks (1993ish)
pretty much the entire rear end of the magazine was advertising and it was a thick magazine, about three PCWorlds in thickness but probably only had a touch more content than a current PCWorld

well that was my senior moment for the day
